Where creativity meets practicality
My grandfather has an amazing woodworking shop behind his home. This shop is a wonderland filled with fascinating tools, knick knacks, and gadgets. He is an incredibly handy man who can craft anything from decorative tables and lamps to functional items like shelves and tables. When I was younger, I built small things with my grandfather and absolutely loved it.
I revived my love for woodworking in my Junior year of college. I needed more shelf space for my bedroom, but I couldn't screw into the walls. My solution was to build a shelving unit for my desk. I was able to craft it to my exact specifications. I adored the process of creating, problem solving, and obsessing over details. It was truly a labor of love, and it sparked an obsession with building whether decorative or practical.

A lot of my wood working projects are quick and scrappy jobs that are meant to solve a problem. For example, on my desk sits two crudely built mini shelving units to store my hard drives and cables. They are not the prettiest things in the world, but they work! Below is a collage of projects I have worked on ranging from sculptural pieces for class to practical pieces made for my everyday life.
